The 2022 Academy Awards indeed went down in Oscar history. It is no secret that Hollywood stalwart Will Smith had his best and worst night at the awards on that fateful day. The infamous and highly debated slap that the 55-year-old laid out on presenter Chris Rock’s face still haunts him. However, despite what all eyes saw, Today talk show host, Hoda Kotb, teased that there indeed are some “shocking” angles to the story that we are yet to know, especially from Jada Pinkett Smith’s point of view.

As to what the shockers are, could be anyone’s guess, but Kotb did drop some hints to it.

Jada Pinkett has more to add to the Will Smith incident

Jada and Will have mutual trust and respect for one another in their 25 and counting years of marriage that have sailed them through thick and thin. However, sometimes that respect and the need to defend it may come off as aggressive, which is precisely what happened at the 2022 Academy Awards. However, Hoda Kotb claimed that in her upcoming interview with Jada Pinkett on NBC News Primetime, the latter “weighs in and explains what she saw from her perspective.”

After the slap, the King Richard actor apologized in a statement to Rock stating “I was out of line and I was wrong”. Although Smith had initially laughed at the joke, it seemed as if his slap was a knee-jerk reaction to Pinkett’s disgust for the same. However, the Smiths had assured that such was not the case with the husband owning his mistake. Yet, now, Kotb teased that the missus “has a different perspective,” to be revealed next week.

Moreover, Pinkett’s interview with Kotb shall also have the duo discuss the former’s memoir, Worthy.

What does Jada Pinkett’s memoir talk about?

Jada Pinkett Smith has been busy promoting her upcoming memoir, Worthy. The book covers many of her life’s deepest and intimate issues. From her childhood, friendships, and work, it shall also address her and Will Smith’s issues with their marriage. As shocking as it might come, the A-lister power couple did have a turbulent and somewhat complicated marriage. Additionally, various rumors have long surrounded the couple’s union.

All of these complications were brought to the fore in Will Smith’s memoir, Will. The couple who have stayed married since 1997, had faced allegations and admissions of affairs. Moreover, Pinkett also once highlighted the issue of how she had to somewhat give up on her dreams for her family. While all these claims have already been addressed, it would be interesting to see what Kotb has in store.
