But his ultimate aim was to become one of the biggest superstars, and for that, he had to star in movies. After being part of The Mummy and The Game Plan, it was both action and comedy that attracted fans to him.
But the ultimate goal for any actor is to become an invincible brand that can never be brought down. In the case of Will Smith, that was bouncing back to power after his Oscar slap gate controversy. Now, Johnson has made quite a big name for himself too. But is his stardom as big as Smith’s yet?

According to Film Updates, Dwayne was actually ranked above Will Smith in 2021. He would receive $50 million for a role, taking the second position, while Smith stood at third with $40 million as his fee for a role.
Now, despite their great performance in action movies, both the stars are much loved for their comical or light personalities. Although Smith has worked in the acting industry for more than three decades, putting a focus on it since the beginning. Johnson, on the other hand, changed his route from wrestling to acting in later stages.

Johnson also suffered criticism for pushing to lead in DC’s expensive Black Adam movie. Unfortunately for him and DC, the movie did not do well and his popularity tanked. It will be seen whether he can pull out of it and rise to success again, as Smith did.
