Deadpool has already thrown nods to the MCU and Disney in his earlier movies. But now, the Merc with a Mouth has the keys to the entire Disney entertainment vault. Despite making it to Disney and getting closer to the Marvel Cinematic Universe, the studio decided to keep the superhero out of one particular franchise- X-Men '97. This new X-Men animated series premiered earlier this year. But before it made its debut, the showrunners teased plenty of cameos from all corners of the Marvel Universe. And they were not messing around. Yet, Deadpool was nowhere to be found.

There are essentially three big reasons why Deadpool did not get a shot in the Marvel Studios' animated TV series, X-Men '97.

On May 11, producer Beau DeMayo took to X to shed light on why Deadpool got snubbed in the series, X-Men '97. "He was off-limits,” said the showrunner. There are three potential reasons behind it. Disney might have planned to introduce Deadpool into the MCU via the upcoming Deadpool & Wolverine film. A cameo in X-Men '97 could have stolen the thunder from the superhero's grand entrance into his new cinematic home.

Furthermore, even if there had been a cameo, another voice actor might have taken on the role of Deadpool, possibly diminishing the unique charisma that Ryan Reynolds brings to the character. However, the primary reason could have been that X-Men '97 was tailored for a TV-14 audience. If Deadpool had been included, his trademark X-rated humor would likely have been toned down, a fear that has been in fans’ minds ever since Disney took on the franchise.

When the announcement of Deadpool joining the MCU got out, a lot of fans feared Disney would water down the character, taking away his raunchiness and fourth-wall-breaking antics. However, those concerns went up in smoke the moment the trailer rolled out.

Deadpool is known for his risqué humor. And with Deadpool & Wolverine, Disney and Marvel will have their first dive into R-rated territory. One of the perks of Deadpool joining Disney is that he is free to unleash his full comedic arsenal on the company. With a plethora of jokes in his repertoire, Deadpool did not hesitate a bit to aim his barbs squarely at the $192.85 Billion studio in the record-breaking trailer.

Fans caught a glimpse of Wade's birthday bash getting crashed by a group of  TVA soldiers. As they whipped out their time sticks, ready to prune him, he scoffed at them showing no signs of fear on his face. Taking it a step further, he broke the fourth wall and went, "Pegging isn't new for me, friend. But it is for Disney". The trailer did not hold back on the gore and f-bombs either, making it clear that Deadpool is not toning down his act one bit for the MCU.
