Meghan Markle has been trying to make the right cut with popularity for quite some time now. The Duchess of Sussex lost her spot in the Most Searched People on Google in 2023, while her husband Prince Harry made it to the 55th position out of 100. While the When Sparks Fly actress suffers from the bout of unpopularity, they have been making attempts to connect to the fans, albeit failing.

Now that the couple has both entered the entertainment industry together, Prince Harry is all set to debut in Hollywood. As the couple grapples to get their popularity back, it seems like their latest venture of $3 million will not help them much with popularity.

The royals turned Hollywood couple seem to fall on the wrong side of critics and fans both. After fans declared both the Princes as more popular, the recent $3 million spent for the film adaptation of the novel Meet Me at the Lake has been predicted to be in vain. Mirror UK recently reported that PR expert Louise Findlay-Wilson said that this project wouldn’t “win them loads of new fans.” The real dilemma lay in the saturated talk about the Royal Family.

Nonetheless, those same talks have made the walking and talking controversy in the American states. The movie might build their “reputation” but won’t garner them new fans. Even supporters are reportedly tired of the same boring narrative.

The recent surge in projects and talks of new ones have come after the couple signed a $112 million deal with the streaming giant, Netflix. All of this comes amidst the drama surrounding their potential downhill in America. A Hollywood insider told PEOPLE that the couple had built a house on an empty foundation. The hopes for the royal name to sustain popularity would not work amongst the American audience.

The growing frustration with the royal family drama indicates that fans are over the drama within the walls of Buckingham Palace. The “rude awakening” is a sign to everyone that only the royal image doesn’t work.
