‘Thoughtful’ Gift for Son Archie Received Surprising Thanks by Meghan Markle and Prince Harry
As the world eagerly watches the British royal family, there’s no denying that every milestone in their lives becomes a moment of fascination and intrigue. Recently, the birthday of Archie Mountbatten-Windsor, the adorable son of Meghan Markle and Prince Harry, caught fans’ attention, especially for the gift his parents got him. On May 6, Archie’s 4th birthday coincided with the special occasion of King Charles’ Coronation. However, a special gift received by the eldest child of the Duke and Duchess of Sussex is the new talk of the town.
The enchanting details of Archie’s birthday gift, befitting the young prince, enthralled the locals in Montecito and the royal couple alike. A local bike owner of Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s hometown gifted Archie with some heartfelt presents, including a specially designed customized bike.
In return, through the office of the Duke and Duchess of Sussex, the royal couple wrote a letter to the owners of Mad Dogs and Englishmen bike shop, Martin and Jennifer.

The Sussex sincerely thanked the shop owners. The letter, signed by Harrison Colcord, read, “The bike has brought much joy, and is most appreciated by the family. They asked that I convey their gratitude at the lovely surprise.” Colcord works for the office of the Duke and Duchess of Sussex, and the letter was printed on a letterhead from the office.
The shop’s Instagram handle shared the letter, hoping that the Sussex won’t mind for making it public.
The Blevins expressed their gratitude in the caption of their post. But they were above and beyond when they got the letter from the Sussexes.
What surprised shop owners about the letter from Meghan Markle and Prince Harry?
Jennifer Blevins, the co-owner of Mad Dogs and Englishmen bike shop “wasn’t expecting that” and she “had no idea” that the Duke and Duchess themselves will be so “thoughtful” in taking out time to write a personalized letter to them instead of a generic thanks. British born Martin, Blevin’s partner, also gifted flowers to Meghan Markle, besides the birthday balloons and a birthday card, as Jennifer Blevins revealed to People.

Blevins further added, “Every celebrity in that town has bought bikes from us, and they all come through there. None of them sent a thank you letter.” This special gesture from the Sussex couple stood out and was a first for the shop owners to experience.
Meanwhile, the birthday that kickstarted this was a special affair. Although Prince Harry was in the UK to attend King Charles’ Coronation, he made sure to fly back home quickly to not miss the birthday. Meghan Markle did not fail to celebrate her son’s special day either. That said, the celebration was reportedly “low key” at the family’s home in Montecito, California.
