Ever since Ryan Reynolds and Rob McElhenney led side Wrexham AFC stepped foot in the second division, they have been on a roll. The Red Dragons are leaving no stone unturned, putting up a show in every match they play. Moreover, the Welsh side has had an incredible start to their run in the football league, recording just one loss over seven games. However, as they say, all good things come to an end.
Not long ago, Wrexham witnessed a humbling loss against rivals, Stockport County. The latest fixture stopped Wrexham’s unbeaten run after the Red Dragons conceded five goals. Following their embarrassing loss, captain Luke Young shed some light on the same.

Wrexham and Stockport County are arguably one of the most exciting rivalries in the Welsh league. To fuel the fire, Red Dragons’ boss Phil Parkinson revealed his take on the rivalry ahead of the fixture. However, the outcome was far from close to what the fans were hoping. The Welsh side was swept clean by the Hatters with a score of 5-0. Speaking after the match, Luke Young told the Atlantic, “This was a bad day at the office.“
While the skipper was upset about the loss, he still had a positive attitude. Young further said that the loss did not demotivate the team in any way. He revealed that the players were pumped following the loss and looking forward to other games. The captain shed some light on Wrexham’s promotion, admitting that the competition had surely increased and their team struggled.
Young also labeled the latest loss as somewhat of a wake-up call for him and his team. The loss, although stopped the Red Dragons’ winning streak, has made things more exciting on the field.

Wrexham AFC was having an incredible run in the second division. So far, the Red Dragons have only recorded a single loss in eight matches. However, Stockport County put an end to the club’s incredible streak. Wrexham fell three positions on the league table from fourth to seventh. Moreover, the club’s goal difference were severely affected after the loss.
Meanwhile, the Red Dragons will be playing their next game on 30th September against Crewe Alexandra. Following that, the club will also play Mansfield Town four days later on 4th October. Interestingly, one of the most exciting fixtures for the Red Dragons is against Morecambe FC, which will also include a surprise by Mike Tyson for Ryan Reynolds.
