"This movie is cray-cray"- With Blake Lively on the hate train, Henry Golding teases the 'A Simple Favor' sequel
Not everyone in Hollywood is still on team Blake Lively. It took one movie, and one tone-deaf marketing strategy, for the 'It' girl to become the most polarizing celebrity in the industry. And as expected, the actress has kept her head down and her mouth shut amid the commotion- even stopping the usual stream of jabs and quips she used to hurl at her people, especially her husband Ryan Reynolds. In this prolonged silence from Lively, one of her co-stars, Henry Golding, has teased the sequel to her 2018 thriller comedy.
Golding has absolutely hyped up the sequel to A Simple Favor, which, in his own words, will be one step ahead of the previous installment.

In his latest interview Indie Wire to promote his upcoming movie with Nacho Vigalondo, Daniela Forever, Golding opened up about the next big thing in his career. After mentioning some of his projects that are currently under production, for example, Nine Perfect Strangers and The Old Guard 2, Golding teased the sequel to A Simple Favor. "This movie is cray-cray," said the actor. He promised that if people thought the first movie was "strange", the sequel would blow their minds away.
Golding also mentioned there will be a lot of new actors in the sequel, alongside Blake Lively and Anna Kendrick, of course. The lead actresses are returning for the sequel, which was announced back in May 2022 and finally got the green light from Amazon MGM Studios this year. However, it was surprising for many that Lively and Kendrick were working together again, especially with all the feud reports, which even came up during the It Ends With Us controversy.
Many fans noticed the awkward interviews and insider reports that proved things were not smooth between Blake Lively and Anna Kendrick.
All about the alleged beef between Blake Lively and Anna Kendrick
Even before the It Ends With Us controversy, Blake Lively had a reputation for clashing with her co-stars. Whether it was with her Gossip Girl co-stars Leighton Meester and Armie Hammer or Anna Kendrick from A Simple Favor, Lively often seemed to have issues with those she worked with. The tension between A Simple Favor stars had reportedly started when Kendrick made a joke about Taylor Swift, Lively's best friend, during an interview with The Edit.

During the movie’s press tour, the tension became all the more obvious. Both actresses took jabs at each other in interviews, all with sarcasm and subtle shade. However, Henry Golding denied the rumors when he appeared on Watch What Happens Live. "Definitely not friction that I noticed," said the 37-year-old. Nonetheless, given that the filming for the sequel of A Simple Favor has already begun, it is safe to say that their supposed issues have not been enough to derail their professional work.
