Milo Ventimiglia is the latest Hollywood star to express his sorrow for losing his home to the LA wildfires. In an interview with CBS News, he revealed that he and his pregnant wife, Jarah Mariano, evacuated their home on Tuesday and watched as the Palisades Fire consumed their family home through security cameras. Though the couple managed to take as many belongings as possible, they had to leave behind the items in their newly finished nursery and everything else. “[It’s] heavy,” said the Gilmore Girls star, struggling to hold back tears.

You see your neighbors’ houses and everything kind of around and your heart just breaks,” added Ventimiglia. But he is not the only one. Other celebrities, including Mandy Moore, Paris Hilton, Spencer Pratt, Cameron Mathison, and more, have expressed their grief about the same on social media since the wildfire. Beyond these personal losses, Hollywood as a whole has been deeply affected by the wildfires too.

Many events scheduled for January have either been canceled or postponed because of the wildfires.

Hollywood starts 2025 on a devastating note

Just days ago, Hollywood’s biggest stars were walking the red carpet at the Golden Globes to kick off the awards season. Now, major industry events find themselves disrupted. The LA wildfires have led to the cancellation of several movie premieres, including Unstoppable and Wolf Man. Key award ceremonies, like PGA and WGA, have been rescheduled to accommodate the disaster as well. Even the 2025 Oscar nominations announcement has been pushed from January 17 to January 19.

On top of that, the next major awards event after the Golden Globes, the Critics' Choice Awards, has been postponed. It will now take place on January 26 instead of January 12. Despite some help from many Hollywood celebrities, the impact of the devastating fires still blazing through LA is mounting for the film industry, and the only hope is that the full extent of the damage in the coming days remains minimal.
