While Cassie was an emotional fool, Olivia’s character was smart, mean, and manipulative. She was a powerful young woman who loved her freedom while Cassie liked to be in control. Due to Sweeney’s impeccable portrayal of Cassie, the makers of The White Lotus mistakenly perceived her as a real-life dumb blonde. She told in her Awards Chatter podcast, “They didn’t think I was right for the character.”
The 25-year-old faced difficulties in getting the role not after season 1 of Euphoria but because of it. But how did she convince the makers for the role?

Once someone becomes an established actor, the makers get well-versed with their personality and the kind of roles that will be fit for them. Even though Sydney Sweeney absolutely nailed it in Euphoria, the makers of The White Lotus were still skeptical about her giving the role.
The actress revealed in the podcast that she had to put herself on the tape and after that, she got the call. She revealed that she had a good talk with the creator of the show Mike White. Eventually, Sweeney convinced him that she will be a good fit for the role and that’s how she got it.
