However, deep down, the show holds a phenomenal fanbase for eking out its own interpretation of a theme amongst its viewers. Debuting in 2021, the show has found resounding success in its last two seasons. Centered around guests and crew of the fictional hotel chain, the show’s gripping tale of psychosocial dysfunctions found popularity. Now, despite a few delays, new words have emerged regarding the cast even as fans searched for clues about a Sydney Sweeney return.

A fresh round of an update has provided the show with new faces after it faced delays owing to the Hollywood strikes.

The White Lotus season three gets a new cast update

After leaving the string of events on a cliffhanger of sorts in season two, following Sydney Sweeney’s character’s shocking drowning, The White Lotus season three received new cast additions. HBO just announced Parker Posey, Leslie Bibb, Dom Hetrakul, Jason Isaacs, Michelle Monaghan, and Tayme Thapthimthong as the new faces set to add to the already star-studded line-up. The confirmation comes just a few hours after potential rumors about new members started to float around on social media.

Along with the new members, Natasha Rothwell will also reprise her role as Belinda, the spa manager from the first season. The upcoming season will follow a storyline of exploring spirituality versus ego. Pitched to be a satirical take on death in Eastern religion, the new set of guests will arrive in Thailand as a backdrop. Additionally, the show also received runtime updates to accommodate the expanded cast.

In the face of the new additions, the return of one key member remains at large, with no official words as of yet.

Sydney Sweeney still unconfirmed for a return

Helming the role of Olivia Mossbacher, the young college student, Sydney Sweeney has remained a prominent face on The White Lotus for its past two seasons. Moreover, with an Emmy nomination for season two, there remains absolutely no doubt about the actress’ acting prowess. However, the 26-year-old, as of yet, has neither confirmed nor denied her return for the third season as the mean Nietzsche and Freud reading girl.

Sweeney recently closed in on her stint alongside Glen Powell in Anyone But You. The movie received widespread praise and heartfelt reactions from the audience. Finally, right up for Valentine’s Day, she has Madame Web queued up for a drop. As such, the possibility of her returning for the February 2024 shoot and an eventual 2025 release remains doubtful.
