While recollections keep varying with the royals of Britain’s imperial family, one thing is certain for sure. The Duchess of Sussex, Meghan Markle‘s entry into the House of Windsor, shook the entire Kingdom off its feet. The break in the traditions divided netizens and their perspective towards the Monarchy into two. While some praise the Duchess for bringing change to Britain’s old history, others despise the former American actress for being of an alien background. In fact, it is not just the commoners and the subjects feeling the stint of it. It also includes prominent royal figures, including the Queen herself, to run lines along with the Duchess of Sussex. 

As reported by the New York Post via The Spectator, sources close to the royals have spilled the tea to the publications. According to the insiders, the longest-serving monarch saw through Meghan Markle. And she was quite public about it. A few days before she breathed her last, the Queen opened up about the Duchess in a reception at her favorite Balmoral Estate. As stated by the publication, the late monarch apparently made some “uncharacteristic remarks” back in August 2022. 

In the course of the same, she referred to her great-granddaughter-in-law as ‘evil’. More so, she even scoffed at “Harry meeting evil Meghan was a complete catastrophe” revealed the explosive report. The remarks, as expected, raised all eyebrows up to the ceilings. The sources even claimed that the Queen referring to Meghan as ‘evil‘ was very completely out of character for her. 

Was the Queen always indifferent to Meghan Markle? 

The answer would be a straight no. As reported time and again, the Queen had a decent and light-hearted relationship with the Duchess. As evident from their first-ever solo trip, the laughs and giggles throughout the trip proved it all. Reports also have it that the former Monarch understood the connection between Prince Harry and Meghan Markle, even if no one else inside the palace does. 

Along with her, her heir to the throne, now monarch King Charles also harbored a similar opinion about his youngest daughter-in-law. In fact, Prince Harry’s estranged father was even ‘captivated‘ by the Duchess’ intelligence and courage.
