The Sussex Recipe! Meghan Markle’s Royally Healthy Diet Includes This Snack That You Can Find in the Market
Meghan Markle rose from the shadows of animosity in Hollywood to ride the carriage across the pond to marry her quite literally ‘Prince’ charming. Her meteoric rise from nadir to the pinnacle was unheard of, even in fairytales. But this did not come without her life becoming an exasperated farrago of distortions. And for a while, the only semblance of balance in her life lay in her meals.
As she made the dramatic change from a sharp-witted leading lady of a legal drama to being a prim and proper Duchess, food became a thread that allowed her to reminisce about her past and also prepare for the future. This is mirrored in her favorite snack, which you can have.

While there is beauty in some promises that are meant to be broken, there is comfort in those that are kept. And Meghan Markle seems to believe in the latter as she stays true to her commitment to being healthy even with her mid-meal snack. It was revealed by Omid Scobie and Carolyn Durand through Finding Freedom in 2020 that “she opted for apple slices and peanut butter” for her mid-meal snacks.
Markle’s mid-meal snack is a testament to how much she cherishes the little things in life. A crisp apple dipped in peanut butter is not a snack we imagined the Duchess of Sussex would prefer having.
Neither did we imagine that she would ever struggle with her appearance. But the life of a royal, even one that has left the castle, is full of surprises.

The Royal family is known for its grandeur and ultimately being perfect. But this comes at the cost of its members, that harbor vulnerability and mental health issues. While the late Princess Diana went above and beyond her call of duty when she spoke about her mental health issues at a time when it was still considered a myth, the plight of the royals did not end there.
Meghan Markle hinted at her deteriorating mental health while speaking of body image issues following her firstborn in 2019. In Harry & Meghan: An African Journey, when she was still very much a working royal, she spoke of how the lack of sensitivity from the media has led her to be tough on herself. That she has persevered to maintain a healthy relationship with food is a testament to her strong-willed nature.
