A new rumor circulating online has been unearthed by the YouTuber Arch of The ArchCast channel, concerning Henry Cavill's Warhammer 40,000 live-action project. The YouTuber discussed three possibilities regarding the agreement between Games Workshop and Amazon, which include a deadline for the writing team to produce a script for the Warhammer 40,000 television show.
They reportedly have a "few more months" to meet this deadline and secure the green light for the show. Should they fail to meet the deadline, the team might need to request an extension to improve the project. However, if they cannot deliver, the entire project could be "shelved." Arch further reported, citing an Amazon insider, that while the rumors are yet to be finalized, there are concerns since writers have not been hired, no plans are in place, and money has yet to be allocated for the project.
Games Workshop shared in a blog post in December 2023 about their plans to assemble several screenwriters familiar with Warhammer. However, recent rumors have raised eyebrows regarding those claims.

In mid-December, Games Workshop announced in a blog post about their collaboration with Amazon Studios to bring the Warhammer 40,000 universe to the screen. The post detailed their agreement and approval to move forward with the production. The company also shared plans to assemble an "elite band of screenwriters" passionate about Warhammer in order to bring the project to life.
Additionally, the post revealed that Henry Cavill would serve as the executive producer who has never left an opportunity to pin himself as the biggest nerd about Warhammer. While a tentative timeline of two to three years was mentioned, there was no actual confirmation. Despite having pledged prompt updates, the flurry of new information has been scarce. And now, with the concerns among fans about the project being shelved, the uncertainty is slated to persist until an official update reassures them otherwise.
