The Seasoned Sitcom Pro Who Swung by ‘Friends’ Once Revealed Being Down to Joining the Reboot
Nearly two decades have passed since Friends wrapped up, but the show is still a staple for millions worldwide. People still tune in for that comforting familiarity, something that is rare in today’s fast-paced and demanding world. While it is never tiring for fans to keep looping back to the first episode after finishing the ten seasons, the anticipation for a reboot of the classic sitcom is somewhere still alive. This craving for a reboot intensified after the reunion, which left fans yearning to see the gang back on screen.
A seasoned sitcom regular, who was also a part of Friends, once conveyed the same sentiment.

Season eight of Friends brought in Marla Sokoloff, a well-known actress at the time, for a memorable cameo. Sokoloff took on the role of Joey Tribbiani’s sister, who got pregnant by her boyfriend. In 2019, Sokoloff dropped by the Entertainment Weekly’s studio for a fun round of our costar game. During the game, she was asked about a show reboot she would want to be a part of. And the answer was a no-brainer- Friends.
Even though the creators have hinted several times there will not be a reboot, the actress confided that deep down, she believed there is a chance it will happen eventually. The prospects for a reboot seem to be even slimmer after Jennifer Aniston’s recent interviews following the highly acclaimed reunion. Everyone was counting the days to Friends: The Reunion, and made it an award-winning show.
The experience of the cast, however, differed from fans’ sentiment and was not too pleasant.

Jennifer Aniston has been very vocal about her experience of being on the sets of Friends after over one and a half decades. While it was heartwarming to witness, the overwhelming love and look back at the legacy they created, it also served as a reminder of the ever-changing nature of life. Aniston coined the feeling as a “sucker punch” on the talk show, Live with Kelly and Mark eight months back.
Following the show’s conclusion, each cast member’s life took a unique path. This abrupt hit of nostalgia was “creepy” for Jennifer Aniston, despite sharing a comforting connection with all her co-stars. This sentiment, coupled with the loss of one of the mains, makes it almost hard to picture them all coming together for a reboot. The only chance for a revival is through a spin-off with a different cast, and Friends fans would surely love to see Marla Lynne Sokoloff joining the gang!
