The Rock and Chris Evans Face Heavy Trolling as ‘Red One’ Catches Fan Eyes All Around

In Tinseltown, two starkly different yet straightforward things draw unwavering fan attention—success and failure. While failure often takes the spotlight when a star's popularity wanes and their artistic choices attract more criticism than praise, the flops really highlight this harsh cycle of growth and change. Even the seemingly invincible The Rock and Chris Evans are not immune since they have unfortunately found themselves at the center of an online trolling spree over their upcoming action-comedy, Red One.

The Hollywood Handle on X recently cited a Puck News report on Amazon MGM Studios' Red One, starring Dwayne Johnson, aka The Rock, and Chris Evans. The film, which is rumored to have a whopping budget of $253 million, is reportedly on track to open with $36 million domestically. Although the initial teaser and the collaboration grabbed fans' attention well before, the speculative budget has made them even more focused, but for all the wrong reasons.

Although unconfirmed, the rumored budget has certainly raised some eyebrows among fans, making them direct their frustration towards the studio and the creators. While Dwayne Johnson and Chris Evans typically draw big crowds at the box office, this upcoming action comedy is making fans question their star power, creating concerns about how the film will actually be received when it hits theaters on November 15.

Fans fail to reason with The Rock and Chris Evans’ star appeal, thanks to Red One

With less than a month until the debut of Red One, starring Dwayne Johnson and Chris Evans, the reported budget is casting a shadow over the duo. Although the film is set to release just before the holiday season as a Christmas action adventure, which should have fans feeling festive, many are hesitant to embrace what they see as a potential holiday “waste.”

Aside from the jaw-dropping budget, the lack of buzz around the project has surprised fans the most, especially considering its cost.

While Johnson is set to take home a jaw-dropping sum that could outshine some of Tinseltown's biggest earners, the ongoing chatter about Red One's rumored budget has left fans skeptical, making their endorsement seem unlikely despite the potential earnings. However, with still some time left until Red One’s release, it remains to be seen whether Johnson and Evans’ star power does the magic that Red One's alleged budget has failed to create.
