“The Queen returned”- ‘Paddington in Peru’ Taps a Queen Elizabeth II Cameo to Send Fans in Absolute Royal Frenzy
The royal soil may seem alien to the rest of the world, with the gates cascaded so high that the sky feels grounded. But with the time that has passed, the royal lives have come nearer for many reasons, with sometimes Netflix tapping some insights into their circle with The Crown or with the royal experts who never fail to let in on the insider talks. However, in a plot twist expected purely out of the cinema, Paddington in Peru has snagged a cameo of the late Queen Elizabeth II, making fans believe a comeback like this is not out of the possibility.
According to a recent report by Variety, the third installment of the hit family franchise, Paddington, has finally returned after a seven-year wait with Paddington in Peru. But the news that has all the animated fans in a regal chokehold is that both Queen Elizabeth II from The Crown, Olivia Colman, and the real Queen Elizabeth II feature in the upcoming movie. The late monarch’s cameo, unlike Colman’s, remains a little subtle with a blink-and-miss glimpse of a picture showing her having afternoon tea in Paddington.

The feature supposedly comes from a short video of her 2022 Platinum Jubilee celebrations, where her final memorable moment was pulling a marmalade sandwich out of her handbag in a sketch. When she passed away a few months later, hundreds of Paddington Bear dolls and marmalade sandwiches appeared among the tributes left with flowers and cards across the UK. So much so, an intervention was also necessitated because of the negative impact on wildlife.
Now, with royal fans eager to catch a glimpse of that moment in the upcoming Paddington installment, it is safe to say they now believe in comebacks—even those from beyond the grave.
Paddington in Peru has fans convinced of an afterlife with the Queen Elizabeth II feature
The world mourned deeply over Queen Elizabeth II’s passing, with heartfelt tributes pouring in not only from the royal family but also from the countless lives she touched. Though many have honored her through various visual tributes, fans likely were not expecting a direct cameo from the late Queen this year, and that too, in Paddington in Peru.
Many were already awaiting the wholesome moment while the others were busy celebrating the Queen’s return. A few, however, were still wrapping their heads around how could she, probably not having read the entire scoop.

While this retreat might not align with the ways the Queen has reappeared before in invocations made by the world, fans are still enjoying the news to the fullest. Naturally, some have turned it into a playful beyond-the-grave meme fest. Yet, the Paddington in Peru tribute adds an undeniably unique touch to the honors the late queen has received so far.
