The One Where ‘Friends’ Matthew Perry Shared His First Alcohol Experience in Q With Tom Power

Friends star, Matthew Perry, once shared one such experience with alcohol consumption. The Canadian actor once shared how beautiful he felt when he drank alcohol for the first time when he was 14. His book stands a witness to all the sufferings he went through. As horrible as it was for the actor, he remembered how the first experience of consuming alcohol made him feel.
During his conversation on Q with Tom Power in January, Perry revealed he drank an entire bottle of wine with his friends, the Murray brothers when he was 14. He even remembered the name of the bottle, which was Andrés Baby Duck.

After finishing off the entire bottle of wine, the 17 Again actor lay down on the ground and enjoyed looking at the skies. He thought while laying on the ground, “This is probably what normal people feel like all the time.” While being under the influence of alcohol makes one dizzy, it certainly affects how one thinks. Perry, who was dealing with his own problems, discovered a small hiding spot.
The Friends star has shared his journey of addiction in detail in his memoir. Perry went on a roller coaster ride while trying not to fall into the trap of addiction. However, after a long battle with this disease, the actor finally survived it. What made him fall deeper into using drugs and alcohol was how it made him feel. The Ron Clark Story actor unveiled that his response to alcohol was not identical to that of other individuals.
But what did he mean by normal people? Well, it is generally those people who walk on the face of the Earth. He felt different from those “normal people” as soon as he drank alcohol. The reason was it made him feel “at home for the first time.”
How did Perry respond to alcohol?
Although generally, when a person drinks alcohol, they feel a little woozy, go home, and go to work the next day. However, drinking, for Perry, was a little different. Although Perry also admitted he did not know it was getting worse, he certainly knew he had a problem with this. Nevertheless, the fan-favorite actor took control of his condition and survived. He has already spoken about how difficult it was for him to even talk about it after getting better. And during his conversation with Power, the actor expressed his gratitude and joy to be able to speak about his overwhelming journey so that he could help other people as well.
