When it comes to action flicks, Henry Cavill has plenty of those to his name. Ever since he took on the role of Superman in 2013’s Man of Steel, the British actor has shot many high-flying rescues to intense battle sequences for his DC part. Particularly because Cavill was dedicated to performing many of his own stunts. Moreover, his plate is not solely filled with superhero duties. His portrayal of Geralt of Rivia in the Netflix series, The Witcher demanded extensive sword training and demanding combat sequences. 

Yet, one stunt that he has dreamed of doing for years still eludes him. 

Which stunt was Henry Cavill forced to sit out?

In an interview with Good Morning America in 2018, Cavill relayed his experience of making Mission: Impossible – Fallout with Tom Cruise. In the movie, Cruise performed one of his signature daredevil stunts by performing a HALO Jump out of a C-17 airplane at dusk. To this, Cavil confessed that the jump was “100% part of his bucket list” and he prayed and begged Cruise to let him do it. Unfortunately, the 61-year-old refused to let him do so. 

Although the Top Gun actor had a fairly reasonable and hilarious reason for rejecting the request, it was still a “heartbreaking” moment for the Black Adam actor. Even for a seasoned stunting veteran like Cruise, it required him to train for “hundreds of hours’ to do so. After losing the opportunity to tick the jump from his bucket list, Cavill has yet to find another chance to do so. 

However, some of his upcoming movies could have presented him with the opportunity to try his hands at it finally. 

Cavill’s upcoming action thrillers

Five years since featuring in a side role in Mission: Impossible – Fallout, The Witcher actor is set to headline not one but two action flicks. Among them is Argylle, in which he will play a spy out on a heist-like mission. Well, the trailer of the movie features many action sequences ranging to-and-fro fight scenes in trains to Cavill’s character driving off the roof of a house. So, it is very possible that Argylle could also contain a scene with him jumping out of a plane. 

Another upcoming action movie of his is The Ministry of Ungentlemanly Warfare directed by Guy Ritchie. It tells the World War II story of a secret British organization that operated like the modern-day Black Ops soldiers. Considering the nature of this flick, it is equally possible that it could also feature a scene in which Cavill could fulfill his long-held fantasy of performing the daring dive. Whether any of these flicks pose this opportunity for him, only time will tell.
