Christopher Nolan has worked with some of the biggest stars in Hollywood over the past two decades. However, no actor has played a more important role in Nolan’s career than Cillian Murphy. The two have collaborated on six movies, but it was not until Oppenheimer that the Irish actor finally stepped into the epicenter of one of Nolan’s projects. Now, fans are starting to wonder if Nolan might be looking for his next 'Cillian Murphy,' and many believe that actor could be none other than Robert Pattinson. 

Robert Pattinson, of course, has already worked with Christopher Nolan on Tenet, which came out in 2020. Fast forward four years and entertainment insider Daniel Richtman has shared that Pattinson is being considered for a role in a new Nolan project. The film reportedly features Matt Damon, Tom Holland, Anne Hathaway, and Zendaya. According to Richtman, a teaser for the movie is expected to drop in the summer of 2025. That will likely be when fans finally learn the film’s title and get an idea of what Nolan has in store this time.

Christopher Nolan and Robert Pattinson may not have teamed up again after Tenet, but both have had ties to DC Studios, especially in the Batman franchise- a realm Cillian Murphy has long been drawn to. Robert Pattinson has publicly admitted that he never imagined his dream of working with Christopher Nolan would actually come true. But as fate would have it, not only did he appear in one of the highest-grossing films of 2020 with Nolan, but he also played a role in inspiring one of the biggest blockbusters, which eventually led both Nolan and Cillian Murphy to earn the Oscars they truly deserved. Now, fans are picturing Pattinson as the next actor to join Nolan’s Oscar-winning circle. "Let Robert Pattinson be the next Cillian Murphy," a fan wrote. 

Fans are giving a big thumbs-up to the potential creative partnership between Nolan and Pattinson and the rumored movie. 

Pattinson is currently in production on A24's The Drama, which also stars Zendaya. Meanwhile, the rumored Nolan film, which could be the period horror everyone was talking about, is expected to begin shooting in early 2025, though sources caution that the loglines or descriptions circulating so far are inaccurate. Therefore, until the film is officially announced, it is best not to put stock in the rumors.
