The ‘Expendables 4’ Is Back with Sylvester Stallone but Arnold Schwarzenegger Has Skipped on It, but Why?
The action-packed trio of the 80s won’t be returning for The Expendables 4. Arnold Schwarzenegger, Sylvester Stallone, and Dolph Lundgren have been a trio that still remains a favorite amongst fans, as they refused to retire. Competing with each other in their prime, the actors would not see eye-to-eye due to constant comparisons. It lasted until they reached a more mature level, and Stallone wrote the action-based movie franchise.

The Predator actor and the Rocky hero have become prime examples of how former rivals can turn into good friends. But with seniority, in-demand actors get choosier about their roles regardless of the money offered. Fans were floored when Arnold Schwarzenegger, Sylvester Stallone, and Dolph Lundgren teamed up for the first part of The Expendables back in 2010. According to Screenrant, the actor would not be returning to reprise his role as Trench in the upcoming movie. The reason is the importance of his role in the movie.
He was apparently unhappy with being cast as Trench because the character did not have the importance that he expected. The movie franchise will still retain the rest of their star cast
The Expendables 4 will star big names like Randy Couture, Megan Fox, 50 Cent, Andy Garcia along with other recurring actors. With a new mission at hand, Stallone will reprise his role as Barney Ross as he sets on a new action-packed mission. Meanwhile, the Austrian Oak will be next seen in the action-comedy series Fubar to make his debut on Netflix. Perhaps a tweak in the character could bring him back for The Expendables 4. The flick is set to release on 20th September 2023.
