In a latest interview with Collider, The Boys showrunner Eric Kripke revealed that the ongoing world events in real life will likely influence the episodes of season five, which are currently in production. Kripke mentioned that the scripts are only half-written, allowing for flexibility to incorporate real-world developments. "They're not all written, by the way. They're about half-written," he added when asked about the scripting update.

Kripke has further emphasized that adjusting scripts to reflect current events is a normal part of the creative process. The team is accustomed to rewriting and refining the scripts up until the day of shooting. As Kripke noted, "You're always rewriting these things right up until the day before they shoot, and sometimes, the day they shoot." Kripke stated, "We have... the big picture of the story, like it stays the same." The final season's climax for each character has been planned, with the current writing focusing on how to reach those endpoints.

Kripke explained that changes to the script primarily involve conversations and jokes, reflecting real-world societal issues and targets that go hand-in-hand with various hilarious references from the world in real life. He noted, "The main bones of it stays pretty similar." allowing the show to maintain its relevance and timeliness while staying true to its core narrative.
