Arnold Schwarzenegger serves as a shining example of how relentless determination can drive one to achieve their aspirations, no matter the difficulties along the way. From a bricklayer to becoming the governor of a state, the actor has laid life lessons in his path, inviting others to walk on the solid foundation he has built. However, not many would know that he learned a very meaningful lesson from specially challenged people.

A few days back, Schwarzenegger made a pit stop in Brendan O’Connor’s podcast. After seeing Schwarzenegger’s respect for disabled people, O’Connor had a personal reason to be all smiles.

Arnold Schwarzenegger shed light on the lessons he learned from disabled people while promoting his book Be Useful: Seven Tools for Life on the podcast. During a discussion on his perspective in life, Schwarzenegger recalled the time when he did weight training with special Olympic athletes. O’Connor is someone who possesses a close-up view of the experiences and realities faced by individuals with special challenges. His youngest daughter, Mary O’Connor, has Down syndrome, which has been a bit of a rollercoaster for the RTE presenter. It makes sense why Schwarzenegger’s admiration for the special olympians struck a chord with him. Arnold Schwarzenegger has been an ambassador of the Special Olympics for many years now, which included the time when he had to confront internet trolling as well.

The 2017 Special Olympics took place in Arnold Schwarzenegger’s native place. Schwarzenegger shared a video on Facebook, posing with a special group of athletes who participated in the games. As soon as the post surfaced, an internet troll took to the comments to make derogatory remarks about the athletes. Arnold Schwarzenegger immediately reacted to the comment with a fitting reply that led the troll to delete their comment.

However, fans of the Austrian Oak already circulated the screenshot of the crass comment heavily across the web. It also featured Arnold Schwarzenegger’s “teachable moment”. He schooled the troll, advising them to find inspiration in the special athlete. This proves that prior to touching O’Connor’s heart, the star had already warmed the hearts of many through his affection for the special people.
