Meghan Markle's transition from actress to Duchess has had the world talking. Meghan Markle's decision not to wear pantyhose during her public appearances has caused quite a stir within royal circles. However, Markle during her engagement photos with Prince Harry in 2017, chose to not wear a pantyhose.

Unlike other royal couples, the Duke and Duchess were frequently spotted holding hands, even at formal events like the 2017 Invictus Games. Their hand-holding, especially in public, broke an unspoken royal protocol where such displays of affection are rare, especially between an unmarried couple.

Meghan Markle’s love for contouring, a makeup trend often associated with glam rather than royal tradition, sparked attention throughout her time in the royal spotlight. This technique, which defines the cheekbones and enhances facial structure, contrasts sharply with the more natural and light makeup styles traditionally embraced by senior royals. 

Markle's chic and defined look stood out, notably during her appearances at royal events, including her wedding and public engagements. This contrast became a talking point as the Duchess favored contouring, especially as her beauty choices became bolder after stepping back from official duties.

Before marrying Prince Harry, Meghan Markle had sat down for an interview with Vanity Fair, where she had candidly talked about her relationship with him. At that time, she had termed the relationship as "challenging", pointing out how media attention and public scrutiny surrounded it. Markle was frank about the highs and lows, telling of how the couple was "really happy and in love,". 

The interview shed light on her growing relationship with the Prince, which was viewed as unorthodox given the royal family's private stance on relationships.

During a royal engagement in 2018, Meghan Markle was spotted entering the car before Queen Elizabeth II. This caught the media's attention in minutes as traditionally, the monarch is always the first to enter and exit any vehicle. Later it was revealed that as they prepared to leave an event in Cheshire, Meghan offered the Queen the chance to go first, to which the Queen graciously asked her to go first smoothing over the minor awkwardness.

This instance highlighted the dynamic between Meghan and the Queen, showing the monarch’s support to guiding Meghan through royal life.

During a visit to Cardiff, Meghan Markle was reported to have broken the rule by signing an autograph for Caitlin Clark. Generally, it is not advisable for members of the royal family to sign autographs to prevent the possibility of forgery, but Meghan wrote "Hi Kaitlin" with a smiley face and heart. The young fan was thrilled at getting such a personal gesture of love from the soon-to-be royal.

Although this was a significant departure from royal protocol, it was not an isolated incident. Prince Harry's father, Prince Charles, had done the same thing before, signing autographs in the case of flood victims.

For her son Archie's christening, Meghan Markle broke with royal tradition by opting for a white Dior dress instead of a British designer, an attention-grabbing choice. The elegant gown, paired with a fascinator and nude heels, showcased her signature polished style. 

Whereas royalty mothers traditionally wear British labels for such events, wearing Dior was a pretty significant choice by Meghan. 

Meghan Markle and Prince Harry departed from royal protocol announcing to the world the arrival of their baby boy by announcing his birth on their Instagram account @SussexRoyal. The couple went for a more personal feel to the whole event and decided against an official release by Buckingham Palace, which read, "It's a boy!".

The reaction of the masses was indeed shocking as the whole traditional process was not followed with great care as previously witnessed. 

Meghan Markle was given a personal coat of arms a rare privilege reserved typically for royal spouses. And unlike other royal wives who get coats of arms whose designs are mostly of their husbands' family crest, this one was done with strong personal significance. It also contained elements that reflect where she is from-California-like the blue of the Pacific Ocean and golden rays symbolizing sunlight.

It also carries three quills to signify communication, reflecting her profession as an actress. This honor is slightly unconventional from the usual.

Meghan Markle has consistently challenged the long-standing royal traditions, reflecting her individuality as also they shared the Netflix series, Meghan and Harry. These moments either sparked admiration or controversy among the public nut irrespective no one can enough of the royal couple.
