With streaming platforms offering two new titles per second, and the gap between varying seasons of a show lasting almost a year, for a series to become an all-time favorite and let alone make an impact has become difficult. Luckily, the difficulty seems to be the juice that keeps the ever-so-optimistic coach, Ted Lasso, running.

While Ted Lasso has been doing an excellent job in surprising fans up until now, what he has prepared for his next run is unlike anything fans have seen him do before.

It was in 2020 that Ted Lasso released to revive the dying genre of sports comedy on television. While the genre is pretty much dead on the big screen, the Jason Sudeikis series scored big time on television and is set to drop its Season 4 sometime around 2026. And despite all the ball dropping that has taken place until now, Ted Lasso Season 4 may be dropping the biggest one yet, as the famous scoop account on X, MyTimeToShineHello, has reported that in Season 4, Ted Lasso will be a women's soccer coach.

The series managed to capture the audience's eye upon its release initially owing to the classic across the pond jokes as an American coach finds himself coaching the 'other' soccer. However, with season 3 having dropped in 2023 and the fourth one not set to release anytime soon, it is plausible that the makers might be preparing for the shock that MyTimeToShineHello has predicted.

Ted Lasso might also have to pull such an extreme page-turner owing to the page having turned on Wrexham AFC as well, something it drew comparison to earlier in the race.

The parallels between Ted Lasso and Welcome to Wrexham

Ted Lasso follows an American coach injecting life into a nearly forgotten soccer club in the United Kingdom. One does not need to be Olivia Rodrigo to get this Déjà vu. To further point in the direction, the series was also airing around the same time as Ryan Reynolds and his buddy-turned-business partner Rob McElhenney were fighting tooth and nail for Wrexham AFC.

With the club now having achieved great things by elevating itself up a league and finding itself somewhat lost, akin to one-half of its owners, the sell-out advice is piling up. Ted Lasso, as it deliberately scratches every surface to maintain the same charm, has also faced a similar fate to the Welsh football club. However, given that Wrexham AFC got lucky with their women's team, who knows if the same might unfold for Ted Lasso.
