In this digital age, social media scams are not surprising anymore. Sydney Sweeney, who keeps her fans in her inner circle through regular life updates on social media, has grabbed headlines for all the wrong reasons, thanks to the same platform. Over the years, there have been multiple instances where social media has turned into a nightmare for the actress, starting from the time of her breakout show's release, Euphoria

Sydney Sweeney’s X account was hacked yet again, on Tuesday afternoon, by cryptocurrency scammers. The actress’ account has shared multiple posts, albeit now deleted, promoting a crypto token. The fake Solana-based meme coin, SWEENEY, prompted fans to pour in $13 million, surging over 2,500% in value, within less than an hour. The account also started making some fake crypto lingo to refer to the actress like “Queen of Sol”.

A telegram channel linked to the token seemingly accepted to be behind the entire scam, although there has not been any confirmation. This cryptocurrency scamming of celebrities is a new trend that has also reportedly targeted rapper 50 Cent, heavy metal band Metallica, and ex-pro wrestler Hulk Hogan. This was the second time this year that the Immaculate actress had to deal with such social media horrors.

In January of this year, Sydney Sweeney shared a picture of her $MILK crypto price graph. In the picture, the actress appeared to have drawn a pair of breasts to mimic the crypto’s price movement with a caption that said, “So I guess I have the best t**s in crypto now too”. The X post also used the viral meme from her appearance on the YouTube series Hot Ones.

While fans were startled by the post at first, it soon turned out to be another case of cryptocurrency scam. Although the sexualized and scamming post has been deleted from her account since then, it seems the fake promotion of the Solana-based scam coin continues. Especially considering that the self-proclaimed hackers have proudly announced that they have moved on to their next target, someone even more popular than Sweeney, only time will tell whom this malice will cast its shadow over next.
