It has been almost a month since Hollywood’s hellish summer began with the SAG-AFTRA strike on the 14th of July. Several reports of delays and a dearth of blockbuster releases have formed the crux of this battle that is popularly being credited for bringing Hollywood to a “halt“. But for an industry that is built on dreams that young actors like Sydney Sweeney and Noah Schnapp continuously turn into reality, it is almost impossible to be still. At least as far as red carpets and awards are concerned.

Continuing its age-old tradition of celebrating all the younglings that have reminded audiences of the magic of cinema, renowned media house, Variety, has announced its Power of Young Hollywood honorees.

A thread that connects both Euphoria and Stranger Things, albeit their striking differences, is their young cast. More specifically, Sydney Sweeney from the HBO show and Noah Schnapp from the Netflix money maker. The two actors have shown a remarkable range and thirst for unique projects, which has led them to be the frontrunner honorees of Variety’s Power of Young Hollywood.

Variety puts forth a Young Hollywood Impact list each year to celebrate the young talents. Along with Sydney Sweeney and Noah Schnapp from the acting realm, there also stands musical maestro Steve Lacy. While Sweeney and Lacy are 25, Noah Schnapp is reaching this milestone at just the age of eighteen.

The annual list has consistently motivated newcomers, while also recognizing and commending those who have delivered effectively. Given the young talents included, fans are bouncing off the walls at the announcement. However, with the ongoing strikes, it is definitely a question if an award show will mean a stacked red carpet.

Variety celebrates its Young Hollywood Impact list with an event that often becomes the highlight of the year. Not taking the route of slap gates, the event is actually proving to be a gate opener for young artists, as Sony takes the role of a presenter. Set to take place on the 10th of August, the Variety event is looking forward to seeing a packed red carpet of stars this year just like it has done in previous years.

It is unclear if the planning of the red carpet is based on an overbearing optimism that the negotiations will be in the SAG-AFTRA’s favor. However, if the strikes do go on, the event can make way for actors to voice their concerns. And also for Sydney Sweeney to stun in another Miu Miu piece.
