While Sweeney's acting career inspired her brother, he soon realized it was not his cup of tea. 

Trent Sweeney initially pursued an acting career. Having graduated from Sumner High School in 2018 and attending Gonzaga University in Spokane, Washington, he gained experience in short films as an actor and assistant director. Notably, he read with director Ron Howard for The Dark Tower (2017) and tested for the lead role in Ender's Game (2013). A few more of his acting gigs include The Opium Eater and Norman(2010).

However, Sweeney soon redirected his path. Realizing acting was not his passion, he joined the United States Air Force. In 2020, he completed training and shared an Instagram photo showcasing his Air Force certification. This significant career shift marked a new chapter for Sweeney. Notably, he is the first from the actress's family to serve in defense. 

Nonetheless, he has always been supportive of Sydney Sweeny's career as an actress when their parents did not. Despite the consequences that Sweeney does not like herself, for instance, the paparazzi chase, her brother has always ensured
