Looking to balance its footing and land itself in a year largely defined by big-ticket drama and sci-fi, Anyone But You brought along the colors of a true romantic comedy alongside Sydney Sweeney and Glen Powell.

The hotly anticipated flick which landed to much fanfare also evoked a swarm of responses and reviews from its audience. Taking to her Instagram stories, Sydney Sweeney shared some of the most trending TikTok skits on reactions. Fans could hardly set their step in the right direction after walking out of the theaters as the deluge of romance dragged them in. The 26-year-old actress hardly shied away from webbing a bunch of such applauses to her stories.

Anyone But You landed in theaters on December 22. However, despite the Euphoria actress’ shedding light on the positivity, there were also constructive criticisms. The Glen Powell starrer stood on a 49% critical score on Rotten Tomatoes and a 6.5/10 on IMDb. Moreover, while fans largely resonated with the idea of an edgy comedy being thrown at them with tantalizing romance sprinkled all over it, many felt a more convincing story would have sweetened the deal.

Contrary to top critics, the audience gave the movie a solid 84% rating on Rotten Tomatoes, making it very eligible for a rewatch. Along the lines, the movie made $1.2 million in previews and stood poised to collect over $7 million over the weekend. In the meantime, the breakthrough song from the movie, ‘Unwritten’, which played during a pivotal sequence, took the Internet by storm.
