David Corenswet has a lot of people to prove wrong. The up-and-coming actor is about to step into the iconic role of Superman in the DCU’s 2025 film, a moment that will undoubtedly mark a defining shift in his Hollywood career. While some are still questioning whether he can fill the shoes of Henry Cavill, the former Man of Steel, many others are looking at him with hopeful anticipation, believing he is more than capable of bringing the hero to life. Among them is Jack Quaid, who has had his turn at playing—well, voicing—Superman.

Jack Quaid shared his hopes for Corenswet’s Superman, a vision he has had long before the new DC hero was even locked in for the role.

Jack Quaid and Sophie Thatcher recently sat down for an interview with io9 to talk about their upcoming 2025 horror comedy, Companion. During the chat, Quaid was asked if he would rather suit up as live-action Spider-Man or Superman. The Boys actor said that while he enjoys voicing Superman, he believes his good friend David Corenswet is the ideal choice for the live-action role. He’s gonna absolutely crush that movie,” Quaid said with confidence in his friend's potential.

Quaid also shared that, well before Corenswet was cast as Superman for the DCU, he already knew that if the franchise needed a new Man of Steel, it should be his friend. As for himself, Quaid admitted he does not feel like he physically fits the classic Clark Kent look, so he would much rather play the geeky Peter Parker instead. But that does not mean he did not once try to land the role of Superman.

Quaid sent in a self-tape audition for James Gunn’s Superman movie but ended up getting rejected. However, Quaid also mentioned that he has thought about playing other superheroes, aside from Spider-Man or Superman, and could definitely see himself taking on another iconic role. Even so, he made it clear that David Corenswet is the perfect fit for Superman. And it looks like he is sticking to that opinion.
