Despite concerted efforts by fans to embrace David Corenswet as the new face of Superman, a recent encounter has left them in a perplexing predicament. Allegedly, a fan's latest run-in with Corenswet in Mexico led them to mistakenly believe they were in the presence of Cavill himself.

During filming an advertisement on the Yucatan Islands, David Corenswet reportedly crossed paths with a fan who apparently mistook him for the former Superman. According to a post by Dcu Updates on X (formerly Twitter), the individual who initially shared the images, later reposted by the fan page, believed they had met Henry Cavill instead of Corenswet. The original caption exclaimed, "Now I can die in Peace I got to meet Superman and the Witcher in person face to face."

It seems that a case of misidentification occurred during the fan encounter, leading to what could be described as a Superman swap, albeit only in the fan's perception. Although this confusion did lead to a stir online, on a more serious note, despite Corenswet's recent positive interactions with fans, this misidentification potentially posed a setback to his efforts in solidifying his role as the new cape crusader.
