The Netflix series, Stranger Things has been stealing hearts since it aired. From an intense storyline to the characters that would go to the ends of the world for each other, the series has managed to stand the test of time. So far, it may have just been a series and a game, but now a new announcement has garnered a standing ovation for its casting efforts. While most immediately assumed that it would have something to do with Millie Bobby Brown, Sadie Sink, and even Noah Schnapp, the reaction was for something else entirely.

Recently, the official Stranger Things Twitter page ended up resharing a post about the upcoming play. Following the recent incident of a child saving a man’s life thanks to the series, the Stranger Things on Stage page took to the social media platform to share the cast that had been chosen to portray James Hopper Jr., Joyce Maldonado, and Bob Newby. Upon seeing the selected cast of Oscar Lloyd, Isabella Pappas, and Chris Buckley, the official page immediately reshared the news with the caption, “already on my feet giving this cast a standing ovation.”

After being announced back in 2022 by the Duffer Brothers, fans had not received much to go on until now. With the cast finally being confirmed, the play is meant to begin sometime in December of this year. It is set to follow the story of Hawkins in the year 1959 and is also being called Stranger Things: The First Shadow. But with all the excitement about the new cast, it seems as though fans can only focus on one thing and that is Jopper.
