Ryan Reynolds is well-known for making fans’ dreams come true, whether through his charismatic social presence or celebrity status. While it is no surprise that directors eagerly seek his involvement, even Hollywood stars are eager to have him bring his signature charm to their projects. Recently, Steve Martin, who stars in Only Murders in the Building, expressed a desire to have the Canadian actor join the show, alongside Cate Blanchett, in its cast featuring Selena Gomez.

While Deadpool & Wolverine was notably packed with star power and numerous cameos, Martin is hoping to see Reynolds make a cameo of his own, but this time in Only Murders in the Building.

Just as the priority-tagged Deadpool & Wolverine is famous for cameos, Only Murders in the Building has also been known for featuring high-profile guest stars. With the upcoming fourth season set to continue this trend, GamesRadar+ recently asked Steve Martin, Selena Gomez, and Martin Short about their wish list of guest stars yet to appear. While Short was somewhat reserved, Martin got straight to the point, starting with Cate Blanchett and then suggesting Ryan Reynolds.

When Blanchett was suggested, both Gomez and Short quickly endorsed the idea, with Short confessing that he “loves” the Lord of the Rings star. Martin, however, was especially excited about the suggestion of adding Reynolds, calling it a “great” idea. Although whether such an opportunity will arise remains to be seen, for the upcoming season, the show is well-positioned in Hollywood to feature a lineup of notable cameos.
