Especially in the realm of animation, more or less every top-performing show and film undergoes an expansion in the creative universe. Despite consistent opposition and skeptical onboarding of such ventures, the entertainment capital shows no signs of slowing down. The latest report around Solo Leveling’s live-action adaptation has anime fans abuzz and not in a good way, as the news has stung like a swarm of angry bees.
According to Kakao Entertainment’s latest scoop, in addition to the ongoing second season of Solo Leveling, the company has been developing a live-action drama of the anime by A-1 Pictures. A post shared on their website notes the live-action project’s progress on its various stages of planning. The specifics of a release date, cast, and staff remain under wraps for now. However, the news has sent fans on a skeptical rollercoaster, seeking answers to the need for it.

Solo Leveling is a South Korean anime web novel written by Chugong and serialized in Kakao’s comic and fiction platform KakaoPage in 2016. The television series is produced by A-1 Pictures and directed by Shunsuke Nakashige. Noboru Kimura oversees the script with Tomoko Sudo designing the characters and Hiroyuki Sawano, is its music composer. While the first season had fans hooked, the recently released second installment had them craving more.
Though a live-action adaptation may cater to the latter part, fans are currently not sold on the idea with their doubt-filled minds strongly against the move.
