Henry Cavill, as the Geralt of Rivia, is perhaps one of the most profound performances on-screen to date. Fans are no strangers to the massive hand Cavill had behind popularising Netflix’s fantasy drama, The Witcher. While the actor’s run as Geralt came to an end a while ago, he surely delivered some incredible moments throughout the series. Cavill’s love for the show is not unknown to the masses. It not only helped him better his performance on-screen but also contributed to the show’s success as well. And previously, the actor went into great detail about the show’s swords.

Andrzej Sapkowski created a world where the main character, Geralt, finds himself in a land of monstrous characters and beings. So undoubtedly the sword is an incredibly important part of the Geralt outfit. And previously, Netflix released a promotional video where the Enola Holmes star talked about swords used in The Witcher. Firstly Cavill shed some light on the type of swords he used and how it was made of meteorite. Interestingly, Cavill even redesigned his sword while playing the character.

During the promotional video in 2020, Cavill revealed that because of Geralt’s fighting style, the sword had to be flexible and available at any angle and time. So describing the change he brought to the sword, Cavill explained, “So I asked for a redesign of the hilt here. It was at a down angle which would give enough space for it to pass over the wrist when I turn it.” Furthermore, the actor added that they made different versions of the swords.

He revealed that they often chose to shoot with the lightweight version to avoid injuries while filming. Meanwhile, it was incredible to witness Cavill speak about it as he truly spoke like a Witcher fanboy.

However, similar to all good things, his run in the show even came to an end, with Liam Hemsworth taking over. In the meantime, fans can surely enjoy his last outing as the Geralt.

The third season of the show will soon be making its way to Netflix soon and fans are hyped to see it. Interestingly, the show will follow the source material in more depth than in previous seasons. Furthermore, we might also witness some changes in Geralt as he relinquishes his vow of neutrality. Not long ago, Joey Barry even teased the fans about what to expect from the third season.
