Making a remake of any good movie is not an easy job. But when it comes to Disney's forever classics that demand new adaptations after some time, the job becomes even more challenging. And that is what has been happening with Snow White. Marc Webb attempted to give the century-old tale a new direction by making it a musical fantasy. But alas, far from reaching new musical heights, the movie finds itself wrapped in a new controversy every other day.

As the Rachel Zegler and Gal Gadot starter hit the theaters, another drama stirred up around the movie, and this time it is following the actresses at the movie's premiere.

Disney's much-anticipated yet controversial Snow White finally hit the theaters on 21st March, and the madness surrounding it continues to unfold. The news of an ongoing feud between Rachel Zegler and Gal Gadot has been doing the rounds in the press for some time now. Now Variety reports that at the premiere, the two actresses were kept apart, and separate events were arranged for their press junket.

While the two actresses have reserved their comments about each other, they apparently share many differences based on their political ideologies and support for different countries in conflicts. Some reports say otherwise, as the actresses presented an award during the Oscars, but rumors of differences on the surface continue to brew.

With news of the two leading ladies not seeing eye to eye, it has raised concerns and curiosity about the movie. But mostly concerns, as it is seemingly impacting its revenue.

How much did the new Snow White movie make so far?

According to the same Variety article, the business of the movie is much below expectations. Made on a budget of $270 million and re-filmed many times, the movie just collected $43 million on its opening. According to a rival studio of Disney, this is a massive disappointment, as the movie was expected to gross much more. “The math does not work. That movie should be a billion-dollar movie,” an executive said in a statement.

So far, it has made $87 million worldwide. Successfully remaking a classic, getting it critically approved, and also earning the fans' approval are the multiple dilemmas faced by actors and directors when they get involved in a remake. Rarely do any movies get a thumbs up from all three fields. As the movie continues in theaters, it is yet to be seen how much it finally collects. But the negative press sure did a number on its reputation.
