And if he had not gone for Oppenheimer, no one would have even thought that even Murphy needed a breakout role. Now, with an Oscar on his shelf, it is hard not to wonder what the Inception actor's next move will be. And perhaps, everyone has a hint of it by now.
Steven Knight recently shared some intriguing insights about the upcoming masterpiece he is envisioning with Cillian Murphy.

Last month, Steven Knight confirmed the news everyone had been dying to hear. Ever since the beloved series Peaky Blinders vanished off the screens, fans have been counting down the moments to break out their flat caps and rewind their pocket watches. And as per what the creator of the franchise, Steven Knight, told NME in his latest interview, viewers can expect to be "shocked and delighted and horrified and then delighted again and then shocked again” by the film.
The writer also revealed that the highly anticipated film version of Peaky Blinders will roll its cameras this September. The 65-year-old is apparently putting the finishing touches on the script, and he will keep polishing it up until the very day before filming kicks off. In discussing the film, Knight also hinted at Cillian Murphy's feelings about the upcoming project.
Judging from Knight's statement, it seemed like Murphy did not even give himself the time to let his first-ever Oscar win sink in before he began pondering his next move.

In the same NME interview, Steven Knight was asked about Cillian Murphy’s take on the upcoming project. To which the filmmaker once again confirmed that the Oscar-winning actor would return to play the Birmingham gangster. He said, “Cillian is really up for it”. Knight also voiced his pride in the actor for winning his first Oscar for Oppenheimer.
The filmmaker revealed that shortly after Murphy's Oscar win, he texted Knight saying, "I really can’t wait to be doing Peaky”. In an earlier interview with BirminghamWorldKnight, Knight spilled the beans, saying “Peaky – in this incarnation – comes to an end”. Even though the film is still in the early stages of production, Knight's teasers are already hinting at great things to come.
