During the interview, she brought up her teaching experience at the USC School of Cinematic Arts, where she asked her students a question about Sydney Sweeney: "Explain this girl to me. She's not pretty, she can't act. Why is she so hot?''

Baum casually mentioned that she had this realization while watching Sweeney’s flick, Anyone but You, on a plane. She was not too impressed with the romcom, calling it "unwatchable". But even though she is not exactly a fan of Sweeney, Baum hinted that she might not say no to producing a movie with her if it meant the project would happen. This was not the first time Sweeney had faced criticism for her acting skills. And nor was this the first time she had been trolled for her looks.

Back in 2021, Sydney Sweeney was all over X because of some mean comments about her looks. The 26-year-old actress bravely tackled online bullying during an Instagram Live session that got everyone talking on social media. “Apparently I am trending on Twitter right now for being ugly,” she said. Throughout the live session, Sweeney stressed how words can really hurt people.

With tears in her eyes, she exclaimed, "I’m a f**king person”. The tweet that started it all by calling Sweeney "ugly" had been deleted, and many had rushed to defend the actress as well. In an earlier interview with Collider, Sweeney also admitted to caring about what people say online. Now, it remains to be seen whether the Immaculate star will respond to Carol Baum's criticism or believe in the millions who have crowned her as Hollywood's 'It' girl.
