After working with Reynolds on their second film, Free Guy, Shawn Levy, had an interview with William Mullally. While talking about their future projects together, Levy shed light on his friendship with Ryan Reynolds. Surprisingly, Hugh Jackman is the mutual friend of these two Canadian artists. The 54-year-old director revealed Jackman had been telling Levy for years that he would get along with Reynolds.

Levy also added that Jackman anticipated the now-strong friendship between the Canadians. In fact, the Logan star once told the film director around the time when they were working on Real Steel, “If you ever do a movie with Ryan, you’re gonna do 10 movies with Ryan.” The Deadpool 3 director went back to the time he met the 46-year-old actor. He said when he first met Reynolds, he instantly felt connected with him.

While revealing they both have the utmost respect for each other, Levy also said their being Canadian probably helped them a lot. The director also reflected on some common qualities that he shares with The Adam Project star.

Talking about their special bond, Levy threw light on the common qualities he shares with Reynolds. According to Levy, he and Reynolds are hardworking. However, they both never wanted their work to consume all of their existence.

Another common quality they both have is that they both want their work to be positive rather than dark. Given this statement, he quoted their film, Free Guy. They both wanted the film to be fun and delightful while keeping the audience optimistic as well.

It is their work, their values, and their methods of working that helped them get along with each other. Currently, Shawn Levy and Ryan Reynolds are working on Deadpool 3 along with Hugh Jackman.
