In the grand tapestry of Hollywood, there is one star who soars above the rest and that is Arnold Schwarzenegger. From his love for bodybuilding, acting, writing, and even politics, the man has seen the heights of success over his decades-spanning career. However, even with all the seriousness that comes hand in hand with such success, the 76-year-old has managed to keep his sense of humor and camaraderie alive. In fact, he once even gave the Tom Cruise a playful moniker.

While the two are not too far apart in the net worth and popularity brackets, they do have quite a large generation gap between them. So large, that Schwarzenegger could not help but poke some fun at it.

Arnold Schwarzenegger recalled his thoughts on Tom Cruise

A few months ago, Arnold Schwarzenegger did an interview on ExtraTV with his FUBAR co-star Monica Barbaro. While the discussion was about their then-upcoming action comedy, the interviewer could not help but bring up the fact that his co-star had worked with another legend on Top Gun: Maverick, Tom Cruise. Barbaro was asked about the difference in working with two of the biggest Hollywood names. Even before Barbaro could answer, the Austrian Oak jumped in quickly to complete the question by saying “besides the age.”

The Terminator star went on to say, “Tom’s still a young kid, he’s only 60.” That is when his co-star added that the Jerry Maguire star “seemed like he’s 30.” While Barbaro and Cruise have a larger age gap, Arnold Schwarzenegger’s 15-year age difference from the star was what stole the spotlight for a hot minute. Even though both men are slowly getting up there in age, neither of them seems to be keen on slowing down just yet.

While Arnold Schwarzenegger has no intention of shying away from his acting career, he revealed that he might have to pump the breaks on his bodybuilding for health reasons.

Arnold Schwarzenegger could be coaxed into taking it slow

It is not a surprise that the 7-time Mr. Olympia winner prioritizes his health. In fact, fans of the former governor of California have seen him share workout tips online as well as in his book, Be Useful: Seven Tips For Life. However, earlier this month, Arnold Schwarzenegger shed some light on his struggles with getting older. He revealed that he had undergone “three open-heart surgeries” which ultimately changed his outlook on life.

Although he still does not want to take things easy, he said that he would “eventually” have to, due to health or even age reasons. The 76-year-old also admitted that the day he would have to give up his fitness freak lifestyle would “be torturous” for him. While that day might be inevitable, the actor still has a fire in him, which is why he chose to share all that he knows with his devoted fanbase.
