Meghan Markle has always had a passion for philanthropy. In fact, she left her acting career to give a hand in making the world a better place for all. After taking the title of the Duchess of Sussex, she continued to use her celebrity status to bring issues to the table that people do not like to speak about openly. From working with charitable organizations to becoming the global ambassador for World Vision, she has been advocating on behalf of other people.

Now it seems her efforts have inspired another socialist to join her in this drive and it is none other than Senator Gloria Orwoba. The Kenyan politician recently gave a hint about her partnership with the Royal Highness for the period poverty campaign.

Nairobi News recently rolled out an exclusive report about Gloria Orwoba’s meeting with Meghan Markle. The nominated Senator told them that her team has “rescheduled” her meeting with the mother of two. The duo would chit-chat over the programme that the former actress runs on period poverty. “So that is the connecting point,” remarked the 37-year-old. However, this is certainly not the first time she will meet her.

They had already met when Orwoba took part in the Invictus Games in the United Kingdom, where Rita Ora performed during the grand finale. This zeal of joining hands with the Suits alum came from an incident that took place at Senate Plenary session. The politician was asked to leave the event and return in clean clothes because of the red stain on her white trouser. According to them, she breached the dress code senators have for all of their presenters.

Back in 2017, Meghan Markle penned down an eye-opening article addressing period poverty spread around the globe. In her Time’s article, she stated that there are many females who never achieved their goals because of the lack of facility during menstruations. According to her research, millions of young girls drop out of schools in many countries where periods are still considered a stigma.

In fact, she herself travelled to different places to witness the problems female face during this time of the month. So she urged the world to take notice of issues like this that could bring a surprising change to society. This way, the world can break the cycle of poverty and will help women to come forward and showcase their talents more often than now.
