Marvel’s Phase 5 kicked off with Ant-Man and The Wasp: Quantumania. Despite the rocky start, with some occasional hits like Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3, Loki season 2, and X-Men '97, the MCU is continuing the multiverse saga with Deadpool & Wolverine landing in theaters later this month. While that is seemingly all for the studio’s offerings in 2024, come 2025, the MCU will be rolling out a slew of superhero movies. And one of the most exciting of the bunch is the upcoming 2025 film, Thunderbolts*.

The movie arrives at just the right time when the MCU needs more team-ups. And whether or not these villains masquerading as heroes get along on screen, the actors are definitely having a blast off-screen.

Sebastian Stan recently had a Zoom call with the fan page Seb_Stan_1982, where he talked about his experience working on Thunderbolts*. Speaking about his co-star, Florence Pugh, the actor shared, “I loved working with her. She’s f*cking amazing!” The Gossip Girl alum also found David Harbour “great” and the entire Thunderbolts* group “really, really cool.” While the Romanian-American actor gave a peek into the vibe of the Thunderbolts* cast, Pugh gave a tour of the sets earlier this year.

This was, however, not the first time Stan sang praises of the cast. He told Variety in January, “It’s a great cast.” Apart from these three actors, the ensemble also includes Harrison Ford, Wyatt Russell, Hannah John-Kamen, Julia Louis-Dreyfus, and Olga Kurylenko. But despite having a powerful team to bring this vision to life, the franchise is giving mixed feelings to the fandom.

There are a lot of factors that have Marvel fans biting their nails about how the 2025 movie, Thunderbolts*, will come together.

It has been two years since Kevin Feige announced Thunderbolts*, and the franchise has already seen two actors, Steven Yeun and Ayo Edebiri, leave, reportedly due to scheduling conflicts. Additionally, the MCU’s decision to exclude Thaddeus Ross and Tiamut Island has not bode well with comic fans. But nothing disappointed fans more than the reported origin of the Thunderbolts*' team name.

The team’s name would reportedly originate from a childhood soccer team of Yelena Belova, played by Florence Pugh, which did not sit well with fans. On top of that, there are rumors that Sebastian Stan has not been filming much of Thunderbolts* and will be written off early in the movie. On the flip side, other reports indicate that he will be the main character and the plot will heavily feature his role. With all these rumors and gossip floating around Thunderbolts*, fans are baffled about the path Marvel will choose for the movie.
