Ryan Reynolds has called 2024 the year of cinematic greatness and with each step he takes in Tinseltown, he is here to prove why. As fans wait with bated breath for Deadpool & Wolverine to hit the theaters this July, it will mark Marvel’s favorite Merc with a Mouth’s arrival after six whole years. While the buzz about his comeback has kept fans on their toes for years now, Reynolds decided to nudge the anticipation a bit more by dropping some Easter eggs for the movie in his latest blockbuster, IF, by John Krasinski. 

Typically, Reynolds’ comeback to the screens is accompanied by his promotional genius. And with a nod to Deadpool through IF, he has upped that game visibly.

In Hollywood, Ryan Reynolds could easily boost his earnings with a crash course on planting Easter eggs, as his latest movie, IF, was not short of any. It seems that not only fans but even Reynolds could not hold his horses until Deadpool & Wolverine’s release as the very first step he took to the big screens with IF was loaded with a conspicuous reference from Deadpool 2. In the movie's credits, Brad Pitt was listed as Keith, an unseen presence who never utters a word.

The connection to Deadpool 2 comes from the fact that in the sequel, Brad Pitt briefly appeared as another invisible character named Vanisher, who was part of Deadpool's X-Force team until he was electrocuted. Pitt's appearance in Deadpool 2 lasted just eight frames, but was hard to forget. While it is unclear if the Pitt gag will reappear in Deadpool & Wolverine, the timing of IF's release prior to it makes it highly probable.

A recent update highlighting its commitment to this task was noted in its alleged runtime, as listed by AMC Theatres at 127 minutes (2 hours 7 minutes) on its website. While Marvel Studios has yet to confirm this update, if accurate, Deadpool & Wolverine would be the longest Deadpool movie to date. 

The original 2016 Deadpool had a runtime of 108 minutes (1 hour 48 minutes), and 2018’s Deadpool 2 was 119 minutes (1 hour 59 minutes) long. Moreover, Deadpool & Wolverine is slated to become the seventh-longest film in the MCU’s Multiverse Saga. Therefore, it is certain that Deadpool & Wolverine is arriving with ample time for fans to thoroughly enjoy and decipher its Easter eggs, free from any time constraints.
