Ryan Reynolds is high on the fever of his football team, Wrexham AFC. He is very active when it comes to the Welsh football team he bought with Rob McElhenney. They are often spotted at the matches of their teams and try to be supportive in the best way possible. However, it is not the men’s team they support.

Recently, Reynolds shared a video on his Instagram story that was originally posted by BBCSports. The video showcases the iconic goal that Wrexham’s shooter Rosie Huges scored in the match that happened about a month ago. Huges went on to score a goal at the last minute against Connah’s Quay Nomads, which ultimately resulted in Wrexham’s victory.

It was a thrilling match, and Wrexham won 2-1 against the Nomads. However, the goal was done at the last minute, and it made everybody, including Reynolds, hold their breath. When the team won, the Deadpool actor said to Huges, “Oh, it was very late, Rosie. It was very late!”

If it weren’t for Huges’ last-minute goal, the match would have probably ended in a tie. However, mentioning the goal was late is not the only thing Reynolds said.

Ryan Reynolds appreciated Rosie Huges for her last-minute contribution

The match between Wrexham’s women’s team and Connah’s Quay Nomads was quite interesting. In the clip where he talks about the goal being too late, Reynolds also said that he and McElhenney were sitting on the edges of the seats. He also called them absolutely mental as the match was reaching its end and Rosie changed the direction of it by scoring that winning goal.

And though he said that the goal was too late, he also said, “But God, it was good!” The best part is that the Green Lantern said this in his iconic sarcastic, pseudo-angry, yet appreciative manner, which gave the team the appreciation they needed.

Both men’s and women’s teams of Wrexham have improved significantly since Reynolds bought them. In fact, he recently made a crazy promise to former Welsh football player Gareth Bale if he rejoins the team for one season. Wrexham AFC seems to improve under its new owners.
