Ryan Reynolds Offers a Welcome to Wrexham to Man Dressed As Deadpool for a Cause
Standing tall as one of the most recognizable faces in the entertainment industry, Ryan Reynolds has found occult fame for his wit, creativity, and stint as Deadpool. However, in the arena of leaving a legacy behind, neither he nor his Wrexham AFC co-partner, Rob McElhenney, have ever shied away. The duo’s efforts of building something larger than themselves have found many takers, the latest of whom stands nothing short of an inspiration.
The home ground has played host to countless matches but will now stay ready to welcome a man walking for a cause and backed by none other than the Canadian star.

Wrexham AFC recently engaged in trading players and building their mettle during the winter transfer window to stand their ground in the ongoing competitive atmosphere. However, beyond the talk of sports, its co-owners routinely engage in championing good causes. Showcasing the same, Ryan Reynolds, in his latest post on X, offered a “warm welcome” to one John Bell, who has taken to the task of walking 140 miles from Mansfield Town to Wrexham.
Dressed in a Deadpool suit, Bell walked carrying a bathtub for his charity, Walking 4 Hope, to spread awareness on mental health issues. The bathtub stood as a visual representation of the baggage that people carry around in their heads and the rubber ducks encrusted on them had the name of a person lost because of such unseen illness. The Wrexham co-owners not only extended their support with direct messages but also made donations to the cause ahead of Bell’s arrival at Racecourse Ground.
Incidentally, the stories of the Welsh giant extending a helping hand to many such causes stand plentiful, with the entire team leading by example.

The Red Dragons scripted history when they broke through a fifteen-year bar and qualified for the next tier of English Football after the team’s acquisition by Ryan Reynolds and Rob McElhenney. Stories of such success starting all the way from the beginning of talks to the duo’s takeover and impact made their way to two seasons of Welcome to Wrexham. Additionally, while the first went on to win an Emmy nomination, the second entered The Hollywood Reporter’s critics’ list of favorites.
An episode from the season titled The Quiet Zone depicted a Wrexham fan, Millie Tipping, with autism and how taking a cue from the same, the team’s star player, Paul Mullin, came to terms with his son’s autistic journey. Furthermore, tales of the Hollywood duo cheering on and donating to 73-year-old Frank Rothwell for Alzheimer’s awareness stand as stark examples of giving back to the community.
