Ryan Reynolds is the face of Deadpool. However, there have been numerous others who have quietly played a part in shaping the superhero live-action brand into what it is today. One of them is Reynolds’ fitness trainer, Don Saladino, who has been training the actor for 15 years, getting him ready for each Deadpool movie. Saladino recently shared a carousel of pictures and videos featuring him doing various activities with Reynolds, or rather, a life-size cardboard cutout of Reynolds. “So many great moments together,” hilariously wrote the strength coach.

From lounging on the sofa to splashing around with the cutout in a pool and towel-drying it, it was clear that Saladino was genuinely missing Reynolds. The New York-based celebrity trainer was also behind the billion-dollar blockbuster, Deadpool & Wolverine, training Reynolds, despite all the complications with the shooting schedule caused by the writers’ and actors’ strikes. Nonetheless, while Saladino outshined every Reynolds fan with his over-the-top birthday wish, Hugh Jackman chose to take a more sentimental route.

Instead of celebrating Ryan Reynolds directly, Hugh Jackman decided to honor the Green Lantern star’s mother. 

Hugh Jackman recently took to his Instagram and shared a few pictures with his friend, Ryan Reynolds, to wish him a happy birthday. However, instead of focusing on Reynolds, he dedicated the day to Reynolds’ mother, Tammy Reynolds. Jackman wrote, “On this day we celebrate Tammy … for delivering Ryan”.

There has, however, not been any social media shoutout from Blake Lively this time around, much less their usual playful banter. After the fallout from the It Ends With Us controversies, the Gossip Girl alum still seems to be choosing to keep a low profile for now. Nonetheless, it is clear that there are plenty of people celebrating Reynolds online, whether it is with him in the frame or with makeshift paper cutouts.
