Fast Company ranked Maximum Effort fourth on its 2025 list of top innovative film companies, applauding its R-rating approach- a blend of Ryan Reynolds’ comedic style and brand audacity. Despite producing Reynolds-led hits like IF, the company’s true disruption lies in marketing. Partnering with Disney, Maximum Effort secured $135 million in brand deals for the Deadpool sequel, collaborating with Audi, Heinz, and National Geographic.
Beyond films, the agency propelled brands like Aviation Gin and Mint Mobile into pop culture phenomena. Reynolds’ unscripted, humorous ads for Mint Mobile contributed to its $1.35 billion acquisition by T-Mobile in 2024. By merging entertainment with guerrilla marketing, Maximum Effort proved that even niche campaigns could achieve mainstream resonance.

The reunion will strengthen Maximum Effort’s dual focus: producing hits like Deadpool & Wolverine which became the top-grossing R-rated film of all time and Free Guy while leveraging MNTN’s ad platform for campaigns. Though the value of Maximum Effort’s MNTN equity remains undisclosed, the merger will underscore Reynolds’ vision of blending storytelling with scalable marketing- a formula poised to keep audiences and advertisers equally engaged. As Maximum Effort continues to blur the lines between storytelling and advertising, its 2025 accolades will cement its legacy as a trailblazer in Hollywood’s evolving landscape.
