Ryan Reynolds Isn’t Cutting Hugh Jackman Any Slack on Halloween either, Throws a New Jab at His ‘Deadpool & Wolverine’ Co-star
Ryan Reynolds and Hugh Jackman are among those rare actors who are practically inseparable from their iconic on-screen personas. And their dynamic with each other further comes as living proof of that theory. The constant banter, combined with their contrasting personalities and yet a heartwarming, tight bond proves that Deadpool and Wolverine really do exist in the flesh. That said, Reynolds, true to his form, is at it again, doing his best to push Jackman’s buttons, even on Halloween.

There is a running joke about Marvel Studios keeping Hugh Jackman as Wolverine until he is in his 90s, especially since the X-Men actor returned to the role after announcing his retirement. Ryan Reynolds jumped at the chance to bring that joke back this Halloween. He shared an Instagram story with a photo of him- clicked by his wife Blake Lively- sitting on a bench next to a skeleton he jokingly suggested was Jackman. He captioned it, “Nice to see @thehughjackman take the whole “til you’re 90” thing seriously”.
Reynolds' post was not just a playful dig at Jackman for refusing to hang up his claws after all these years; it also referenced the opening scene of Deadpool & Wolverine, where Deadpool hilariously digs up Wolverine's skeleton to save his piece of the multiverse from destruction- later seen sitting and chatting with that very skeleton on a log. But that was not the end of Reynolds’ Halloween fun.
The highlight of Reynolds' Halloween was watching America transform into a literal Deadpool & Wolverine universe, filled with variants.

After the blockbuster success of Shawn Levy’s Deadpool & Wolverine, it was only expected to see a ton of Deadpool and Wolverine costumes hitting the streets of America this year on Halloween. But Ryan Reynolds might have underestimated just how many there would be. The actor was genuinely surprised to see so many fans dressing up as the Marvel characters and shared a story to express his gratitude.
"I can’t believe the number of Deadpool & Wolvie costumes running around last night", wrote Reynolds. He called it a "dream come true" and something his 5-year-old self would have thought was "impossible". Well, Reynolds better get used to it, because with the Deadpool universe expanding in the MCU, this frenzy is only going to get bigger.
