Ryan Reynolds Finds Time for a Wrexham Match Even During Shoots
Wrexham has been one heck of a gamble for Ryan Reynolds, both financially and emotionally, and boy did it pay off big time for him. After dragging the team out of a 15-year exile from the Football League, alongside his buddy and Wrexham co-owner Rob McElhenney, the Deadpool star is about to pull off another promotion for Wrexham AFC. The Red Dragons are on the brink of it and Reynolds is not missing a moment of it, even if he is in the thick of a shoot.
Reynolds brought his Wrexham passion to the workplace to witness his team's performance at this pinnacle moment of the club's journey.

It has been nearly two decades since Wrexham last graced the third tier of English football. But with Hollywood heavyweights Ryan Reynolds and Rob McElhenney at the helm, and cameras from the Welcome to Wrexham documentary crew documenting their journey, the largest club in north Wales might just be about to break that drought. And as Wrexham celebrated their impressive 4-1 victory over Crawley Town FC today, Reynolds cheered on from the Mayday sets, as can be seen in his Instagram story.
Dressed in a green suit, possibly a Mayday costume, the actor captioned his Instagram post with, "Watching the @wrexham_afc game at work: new level unlocked". In his next story, he celebrated his team's victory, declaring, "Big win today. Very big". With only three games remaining in the League Two season, just two more wins will catapult the team into League One. From there, it is just two more promotions to the Premier League for the Red Dragons, a prospect even their team's manager expressed confidence in.
Just a few months back, Phil Parkinson drew inspiration from another football club to drive Wrexham towards the Premier League.

Hollywood co-owners Ryan Reynolds and Rob McElhenney, based at SToK Racecourse, have always been transparent about their ambition to steer the Red Dragons towards the English top-flight. While there is still a long journey ahead, last season saw a significant stride forward as they won the National League title in record-breaking fashion. Phil Parkinson, speaking to FourFourTwo in December last year, reaffirmed Wrexham's aspirations for similar achievements.
Parkinson pointed to Luton Town's success story, showing how a solid game plan can take a team all the way to the Premier League. Taking cues from Luton's playbook of strategic moves and steady progress, the manager stressed the importance of playing it smart. Unlike those risky clubs who roll the dice for a quick win, Wrexham, according to Parkinson, is playing the long game. Both the owners and the manager are dead set on building a rock-solid team for the ages. And with the team's recent winning streak, it looks like they are inching closer to making the Wrexham owners' dreams a reality.
