After several rounds of predictions, speculations, and conjectures, when Deadpool & Wolverine doubled down on the power of cameo theory in a superhero universe, fans were convinced about a Blake Lively appearance as Lady Deadpool. Despite every red flag shown by the studio, negating the idea as if it were alien, fans knew right from the beginning. Although Lively always wanted a share of that box-office frenzy Ryan Reynolds could count on, it turns out she may have gotten it finally as her lawsuit with Justin Baldoni landed headfirst on the R-rated flick.

While Lively and Reynolds may have vowed to stick through thick and thin, can this new plot twist thin the herd of Deadpool & Wolverine fans?

Justin Baldoni is getting his ducks in a row to go head-to-head with Blake Lively, and in the process, he may have gotten hold of his biggest trump card, Deadpool & Wolverine, starring Ryan Reynolds. According to TMZ’s latest report, Baldoni is stacking and backing his case, focusing on a particular character allegedly intended to mock the filmmaker. Baldoni’s lawyer, Bryan Freedman, sent a legal letter to Marvel Studios’ Kevin Feige and Disney’s Bob Iger, claiming Reynolds openly made fun of him during a Nicepool segment.

In the scene where Reynolds plays one of the Deadpool variants, Nicepool, he iterates a line, “Where in the God’s name is the intimacy coordinator?” Not only that, he also praised Lively’s Lady Deadpool for “snapping back” after having a baby while remarking feminism. Lively accused Baldoni of fat-shaming her post-pregnancy on It Ends With Us set, and regarding the other comment, Baldoni probably believes it was a crafted swipe at him for “touting himself as a feminist” during the movie’s press release and promotion.

When Ryan Reynolds donned the Marvel Jesus hat last year, it would have been impossible to imagine Jesus going behind bars for a Deadpool-sized stint. But now that Justin Baldoni has pulled up his sock, the highest-grossing R-rated flick of all time finds itself deep in R-rated trouble. According to TMZ, the letter Bryan Freedman, Baldoni’s lawyer, sent between his lawsuit with Blake Lively, demands the studio keep all the documents associated with Deadpool & Wolverine.

The letter demands it to keep “all documents relating to or reflecting a deliberate attempt to mock, harass, ridicule, intimidate, or bully Baldoni through the character of Nicepool.” While Reynolds was already staunch in his support for his wife throughout, with Baldoni dragging him all the more into the legal mess, it remains to be seen if the Avengers assemble for a Marvel Jesus rescue.
