Like a walking emoji party, Ryan Reynolds could strut about the red carpet in a unicorn onesie and still manage to look sophisticated. A cocktail of charm and mischief, his goofy personality is one of the most endearing among Hollywood’s A-listers. The Deadpool star’s ability to turn mundane moments into hilarious anecdotes is a superpower in itself. Speaking of hilarious anecdotes, Netflix is on the verge of releasing a Scott Pilgrim anime. Although Reynolds’ quirky vibes are the perfect fit for the eccentric world of Scott Pilgrim, the actor was not a part of the flick that introduced us to the geeky lover.

But making up for his absence from the 2010 flick, he recently gave fans a glimpse of him as Pilgrim. After all, the Free Guy actor is the reigning champion of the niche that combines action with sci-fi and comedy.

When Netflix introduced the trailer for Scott Pilgrim Takes Off, fans were officially going gaga. Taking the hype to the next level, Maximum Effort aka Reynolds’ production company put out an amusing tweet. Like a reflection of Pilgrim, the 46-year-old awkwardly posed with a guitar in a vintage-looking photo. And in the comments was none other than Hugh Jackman with a quip reading “I love everything about this photo.”

Fans of the Deadpool 3 stars could not agree more with Jackman’s comment on the silly photo of his ‘frenemy’. The caption that went along with the tweet revealed that Reynolds was impersonating Pilgrim, who sang the iconic track ‘Ramona’ in the movie.

It would be legendary if Reynolds, with his love for the flick, actually joined the cast for the upcoming anime. Although no such announcement has been made, the cast does include another Marvel superhero, but as a superhero.

With its explosion of comic book-come-to-life visuals, Scott Pilgrim Takes Off is set to hit Netflix on 17th November. The animated quirkiness of the show will see the return of the original movie’s cast. Among them is Marvel’s own Chris Evans, who will voice the antagonist Lucas Lee. Joining Evans, Michael Cera, Mary Winstead, and Anna Kendrick are back as well.

Although a fan of Pilgrim’s surreal world, Ryan Reynolds did not join the anime’s cast. But soon he may be seen in another Netflix action comedy directed by the man behind Scott Pilgrim vs. The World. One thing is for sure if a flick needs laughter, Reynolds is the perfect man for the job.
